Cheese Burger

Classic American Cheeseburger

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of American cheese
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 onion slices
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Ketchup and mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the patties on the grill or griddle and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  5. When the patties are almost done, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun.
  7. Top each patty with a lettuce leaf, tomato slice, onion slice, pickles (if desired), and condiments like ketchup and mustard.
  8. Place the top half of the bun over the toppings to complete the burger.
  9. Serve the cheeseburgers with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
